We all know that the world is full of carcenogens left right and center, but here are some numbers that will make you feel even worse about your coffee shop addiction.
Styrofoam cups take 50 fucking years to biodegrade. And 'biodegradable' paper cups take 5 - 15 years. 57 chemicals are found in styrofoam, polluting the air and the coffee they contain. Paper cups are often lined with polythylene, which makes them virtually unrecyclable. The average second cup goes through 5000 paper cups per week (just for hot drinks) and there are some 400 locations in Canada. Plus lids and stir sticks. WACK !
